After, maybe the script allowing to resize the image has a maximum. - Test some image with this resolution 1024, 2048 ... You will see where is the limit. - The second point it also could be the weight of the image.

The problem is when the image is too big in upload (weight or size). I looked the sript image_resample, I do not see anything about this problem, no maximum. Maybe the php librairy ?
